Cash's Promotion

We are thrilled to announce Cash will be promoted to BIG BROTHER in 2013!!!
Geoff and I had been "trying" for baby #2 since January with no luck and wouldn't you know the second we were done I got pregnant!
We took Cash on Grampas boat 5/20/12 and I was just not feeling well (which sometimes happens to me on the boat) and Steve suggested I drink a Corona to settle my stomach and it helped.  (WHOOPS in hind site!) The next day (May 21) I still didn't feel well and thought maybe it's still from the boat.  However the following day (May 22) I still felt gross. so I said to Geoff while we were at Target let grab a pregnancy test.  He asked if I was "late" and I said no, but I don't feel right.  We bought a pack and went home.  Geoff was reading Cash a bedtime story and I decided to take the test alone.  I am not sure if it's because I don't want to be disappointed if it was negative and have Geoff be disappointed or what but I wanted to be alone and see the results.  Well sure enough there was those 2 lines!!! I took the second and again there were 2 lines.  I walked into Cash's room with tears of excitement and said "Guess what Cash! your going to be a big brother!!!"  Geoff's face was shocked and excited all at the same time,  since we hadn't been trying it was a bit of a shock.  We feel so blessed and excited for this baby to join our family.

We didn't tell our family I was pregnant until we had the pregnancy confirmed at the 8 week ultrasound.  My Mom found out earlier because I was so nauseous I would puke every time I came to pick Cash up from her house so I swore her to secrecy.  We told Geoff's sister Amanda and her husband Kory on 6/18/12 we had a audio of the babies heartbeat and Geoff told her he wanted to have her listen to something.  She was so excited for us and we swore them to secrecy because we weren't telling the rest of the family until a few days later.  We had the whole Michaud/Sargent Family over for dinner for Steve's Birthday and we decided we would share the news then.  We attached a ultrasound picture to the back of Steve's Birthday card and and arrow after Love, Geoff, Courtney, Cash and --------------------------> when he flipped the card there was the ultrasound.  Everyone gasped with joy when they realized what he was looking at.  It was so exciting to see every ones reaction.

Here is our ultrasound from 7/30/12 13 1/2 weeks pregnant

Chicago

Geoff and I took a 5 day trip to Chicago to visit our good friend, Eric.  It was our first trip without Cash and I'd never been away from him for more than 48 hours.  I was a bit uneasy about leaving but decided with baby #2 on the way we better get out of dodge before we no longer can.  We had an amazing time, my morning sickness had FINALLY subsided (literally 2 days before our trip).
Having Eric there as a tour guide was amazing.  We ate lots of yummy food  from gourmet grilled cheese at "Cheese's" to awesome BBQ.  The boys drank lots of great beer and mixed drinks while i had water.  We went on an architectural boat tour through the river and got to go into Lake Michigan.  We went to a Cubs game and sat through a 4 hour rain delay.  It was an intense rain/thunder.lightening storm.  We stayed the entire time soaked but still enjoyed every minute of the game.  We walked all around downtown Chicago, visited the Buckingham Fountain (Married with Children Fountain), we saw the "bean" and got stuck in yet another rain storm.  We also went to the famous Shedd aquarium.  It was such a great vacation for Geoff and I and it will probably be one of our last solo vacations for quite a while.
