Christmas 2009

We had an amazing first Christmas with Cash. On Christmas morning Nanna, Papa, Smooch, Unk & Uncle Bob came over to our house for Christmas Breakfast. Geoff is such a great cook, the food was Delicious. After breakfast we got ready and went over to spend the day with Nanna & Papa. Cash got so many nice gifts, he is so spoiled.

Later Christmas night we went over to the Ansel Family's Home and continued the Christmas celebration. Cash was bundled up as a reindeer, he look so toasty and cute!

First Bath

My Mom gave Cash his first real bath, his umbilical cord is off so he can now go in the tub. I was way to scared to do it. He absolutely loved his bath.

Happy Halloween 2009

Cash was too little this year for a real costume. We just dressed him in Halloween clothes. He spent his first Halloween with Nanna & Papa while Mommy & Daddy went to a Halloween Party.

Going Home

We got to take Cash home on Sunday, October 25, 2009. We were so excited.

Geoff said driving with him in the car was the scariest thing he's ever done.

GlowWorm

We were all set to go home on Saturday, October 24 however, Cash's Billie score was too high (He had jaundice) He was going to have to stay in the hospital. I have never been so sad, we had to leave him all by himself and go home. Thank God we could visit him any hour if we wanted. The hospital called the next morning and said his levels were normal and we could take him home.
He looked so cute in his little incubator.

He's Here!!!

I worked the day I went into labor. (It was my last day before I was to go on maternity leave) I had gone home and my Mom and I went for a long walk. I cooked Geoff dinner. I was noticing some discomfort so I took a warm shower and after, Geoff & I headed to Sears at South Coast Plaza. My contractions started getting stronger while we were in Sears and I was getting irritable so we left. As I sat down in the car, I felt a gush of fluid, I knew my water had just broken. I was so thrilled ,I called our parents (then the hospital)
We arrived at the hospital around 8:30 pm and I was admitted to labor and delivery. I feel sorry for the people waiting in the ER lobby. I didn't know when your water breaks you continue to gush fluid!!! I left a nice puddle in the lobby...OOPS!
My parents showed up to the hospital after the Dr. confirmed I was in true labor. I was 6 cm and 80% effaced. My Mom and I walked the halls for an hour or so before Samantha Ascher and Amanda Brown showed. I asked for the "cocktail" as I called it, I didn't need the epidural yet. Around midnight I was really starting to feel the pressure and wanted real drugs. My parents spent the night with us in the hospital. I didn't get any sleep with the nurses constantly moving the fetal monitors and taking my temperature. I stopped pretending to try to sleep around 6:00 am and asked if they could check me I felt so much pressure. The nurse said she didn't want to check me because I was running a slight fever. (since my water broke 10 hours before) We waited and waited until Doctor Koperek came in around 9:30 am and said I was 10 cm dilated and 100% effaced. He said I had about an hour to two hours of pushing and he would come back. The nurse got set up to do a "test" push and had to call the Dr. back, Cash was literally right there. I pushed for about 30 mins with 3 minuted between contractions (which apparently is long breaks)

Cash joined our family on Thursday, October 22, 2008 at 10:15 am with his Nana, Papa, Grammie, Grampa, Smooch & Aunt Sandy all there to greet him. He is truly a blessed child.

38 Weeks

I have weekly Dr. Appointments and Ultrasounds now, Cash is getting so big. It is hard to see him in the Ultrasounds. My due date is 2 weeks from now. I am already 2 cm dialated and 40% effaced. Good news, he flipped, Cash has been breech for my pregnancy and he is now head down. I am getting so huge I feel like I am about to burst. I am having tons of braxton hicks contractions now and wonder if I will know what real labor feels like.

Friend Baby Shower

My Aunt Lisa threw my second baby shower on September 20, 2009.
I had so much fun. She held it at the Monkey House Cafe in Huntington Beach.
All my girlfriends were there and they showered Cash (and me) with so much love. We are truly blessed to have such great friends and family.

Home

The second we got our keys (September 31, 2009) Geoff started construction on our house. He has finished off the fireplace wall, he had our ceilings scraped, he painted the entire house top to bottom, tiled the kitchen and both bathrooms, he installed recessed lighting throughout the house. He has been so busy in preparation of Cash's arrival next month. Here are a few shots of the progress

Matt & Arsalan came over September 20 to help us move. They are awesome for doing this and we love them for it.

Family Baby Shower

My parent's threw my baby shower September 5, 2009.
It was so exciting to have my entire family over and being showered with gifts for Cash.
The ladies did all the traditional baby shower games and the men had a diaper poker party. The buy in was a pack of Pampers. Such a great idea, we now have a ton of diapers :)
We are so blessed to have such great family we received tons of gifts.

The guys even had their own game. My Mom had all the men blow up ballons (they had no idea what was to come) then she tied ribbon on their shoes, told them to put their balloon in their shirt and try to tie their shoes. It was so funny to watch them (some popped their balloons) Uncle Simon won. Such great sports the men of our family are.
